Job Description Summary
Instructors are expected to use and keep abreast of advanced teaching methods including the use of current and future technologies to support student learning and career objectives. Teaching schedule may include evening or weekend hours as part of contract assignment
Desirable Qualifications
1. Possession of a bachelors degree or higher from an accredited college or university. 2. Possession of the ARRT Advanced Certification in Mammography Cardiovascular-Interventional Quality Management Computerized Tomography Magnetic Resonance Imaging or Bone Densitometry. 3. Additional Certifications ARRT (T) (NM) CRT -Fluoroscopy ARDMS . 4. Sufficient academic background to use major required texts (e.g. Bushong Radiologic Science for Technologists Ballinger Radiographic Positions and Radiologic Procedures; Landicina Radiologic Pathology for Technologists Chabner Language of Medicine Torres Basic Medical Techniques and Patient Care Adler and Carlton Introduction to Radiology and Patient Care). 5. Ability to adapt instructions to students with widely varying academic backgrounds. 6. Membership in appropriate professional organization (e.g. ASRT AERS RTEC CSRT ). 7. Community College or Radiography teaching experience. 8. Competence in computer skills such as use of electronic mail Internet MS Office software including MS Word Excel and PowerPoint.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Possession of a bachelors degree from an accredited college or university and four (4) years of experience in Clinical Radiological Science; AND 2. Possession of an American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Registration and State Certification in Radiography (Certified Radiologic Technologist) from the State of California Department of Health Services Radiologic Health Branch. OR 3. Possession of an Associates Degree from an accredited college of university AND six (6) years of experience in Clinical Radiologic Science; AND 4. Possession of an American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Registration and State Certification in Radiography (Certified Radiologic Technologist) from the State of California Department of Health Services Radiologic Health Branch; OR 5. May submit a fully-satisfied lifetime California Community College Instructor Credential authorizing service to teach courses in Radiologic Science. (The credential will not satisfy the requirement for tenure. Credentials were no longer issued after July 1 1990); 6. Demonstrated cultural competency sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic socioeconomic cultural disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college staff faculty and students.
