The Junior FOIA and Privacy Analyst provides entry-level support to Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and Privacy Act operations for a federal customer. This role assists with case processing record management and administrative support activities while ensuring accuracy timeliness and compliance with applicable federal laws regulations and agency policies. The analyst handles sensitive unclassified information in accordance with Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) security and privacy requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Support FOIA and Privacy Act case processing through accurate data entry and case tracking.
- Maintain and organize electronic and hard copy FOIA and Privacy case files.
- Assist with record searches document scanning and file conversion activities.
- Draft routine correspondence and assist with preparing case-related documentation.
- Ensure information is handled in accordance with Privacy Act requirements and DHS/USCG rules of behavior.
- Support senior analysts and team leads with administrative and operational tasks as assigned.
- Maintain attention to detail to ensure data accuracy and completeness across all assigned tasks.
Requirements
Education / Experience:
- Bachelors degree (BA/BS) and a minimum of 1 year of general office experience or a minimum of 5 years of general office experience.
Skills:
- Demonstrated ability to perform accurate data entry and maintain case tracking systems with strong attention to detail.
- Professional written communication skills.
- Ability to organize and maintain electronic and hard copy case files including assisting with scanning conversion and record searches.
Eligibility & Compliance:
- Ability to obtain and maintain DHS/USCG suitability and access to sensitive unclassified information including Privacy Actprotected data.
Work Environment
- Location: Washington DC (On-site/Hybrid as approved by the customer)
- Schedule: MondayFriday 8:00 AM 4:00 PM ET (excluding Federal holidays)
