Were looking for a General Machine Operator to join our Roading team in Gisborne. This is a handson outdoor role where youll be out on the road with a tightknit crew and able to see the results of your work at the end of the day. Youll help set up safe worksites support specialist stabilising machinery and get stuck into physical work.

Mō te tūranga About the role

In this role youll operate core machinery such as rollers and water carts use basic hand tools and carry out physical tasks like raking shovelling and levelling. Youll also spot for machinery and keep the site tidy to help maintain a safe work environment.

Operate plant and machinery (such as rollers and water carts)
Use handheld tools and equipment safely and effectively (e.g. compactors cutting tools power tools)
Participate in pre-start meetings to understand the work plan hazards and controls
Carry out labouring tasks (lifting shifting measuring cutting) to a high standard

Full Class 4 licence with WTR
Experience driving on public construction and rural roads including safe loading securing and unloading of materials and equipment
Handson experience working around stabilising plant (rollers water carts)
Experience operating support machinery such as rollers water carts and small plant
Experience in general civil labouring tasks including raking shovelling levelling basic setout and safe manual handling
