Were looking for a keen General Machine Operator to join our Roading team in Gisborne. This is a great first step into road / civil construction a handson outdoor role where youll be on the road with a tightknit crew and see the results of your work every day. If youve got your Class 1 licence with WTR and a good attitude wed love to train you up.

Youll learn to operate core machinery such as rollers and water carts use basic hand tools and help with physical tasks like raking shovelling and levelling. Youll also help spot for machinery keep the site tidy and support basic quality checks to keep everyone safe and the work up to standard. Were keen to invest in the right person and grow your skills on the job.

Ngā kawenga matua Key responsibilities

Operate (or learn to operate) plant and machinery such as rollers and water carts
Use handheld tools and equipment safely and effectively (e.g. compactors cutting tools power tools)
Take part in prestart meetings to understand the work plan hazards and controls
Carry out labouring tasks (lifting shifting measuring cutting) to a high standard
Assist with simple quality checks and record keeping (QA) as needed

Full Class 1 licence with WTR
A genuine interest in construction and roading
Willingness to learn to operate machinery and stabilising plant
Some hands on or outdoor work experience
Good attitude to safety teamwork and turning up reliably
