Job Summary

Scope of the project:

SCDMV employs a multi-tiered architecture in its core business systems. The business application tier utilizes microfocus visual COBOL running under IIS on MS Windows 2022 servers. This assignment will support development of new business functions and troubleshooting modification and enhancement of existing functions in this environment within the existing SCDMV application framework. Projects may include business logic supporting on-line systems batch programming data extraction and reports involving all SCDMV business areas. This engineer will work closely and will be involved with both the UI tiers which are applications ( C#.Net) and the database tiers in both SQL and Oracle. Production trouble shooting support will be expected so some level of production support experience is required. This contractor will be expected to work with minimal supervision will be in direct contact with business area specialists develop technical approaches and designs code test and support these functions. Communications skills must be excellent.

Daily Duties / Responsibilities:

Analyze the SCDMV Phoenix II Web Service and batch business applications
Take the lead in analyzing and trouble-shooting assigned system problems
Propose solutions
Code test promote and interact with impacted users ensuring that solution meets requirements.

Provide daily and weekly status to the development manager

Required Skills (rank in order of Importance):

8 Years of Development with MICROFOCUS Visual COBOL in Windows Server 2019/2022 batch and under IIS.
4 Years Experience with Visual Studio 2019/2022 including the ability to use the debugger
4 Years of Application programming against RDBMS (Oracle SQL).

Bachelors degree in IT OR related discipline with 8 years of experience or minimum 10 years related experience without degree

Preferred Skills (rank in order of Importance):

Experience with MICROFOCUS COBOL Version 7 and higher
Ability to write complex queries using SQL for Oracle and MS SQL DB.
IIS Configuration/Setup
Skilled in C#
Microsoft Certification please indicate specific certificate on resume

Required Education:

Prefer Bachelors Degree in Information Technology related discipline with 8 years of experience or minimum 10 years related experience

Required Certifications:

Not required but MS technical certifications will be factored in the selection process.
