SUMMARY
The Junior Commercial Overhead Door Technician is responsible for performing preventative and corrective maintenance routine and on-demand services on commercial overhead doors glass glazing and building entry doors.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conducts regular inspection and preventative maintenance on commercial overhead doors glass glazing building entry doors and related hardware.
- Provides observations on conditions and deficiencies and suggestions for enhancements and repair.
- Responds to routine and on-demand service requests.
- Troubleshoots and resolves commercial overhead door and related hardware issues.
- Repairs replaces and installs door hardware components.
- Records resolution data applicable logs/service maintenance management database. Ensures work completed meets quality and contract response and all other requirements.
- Receives tracks monitors and reports status of maintenance work within applicable logs/service maintenance management documents to obtain formal approval of work required.
Work Requirements
- Must be able to work shifts be on-call and be available to respond to emergencies.
- Must be willing to wear personal protective equipment.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- MINIMUM EDUCATION:High school education.
- Past experience in commercial overhead door maintenance and repair work an asset.
- High school diploma plus trades training and certification an asset.
- Ability to adhere and to properly execute processes and practices.
- Ability to maintain and repair mechanical and electrical systems relating to doors and door hardware components.
- Strong troubleshooting and resolution skills in order to resolve commercial door issues.
- Possesses a strong environmental health and safety to perform work in a safe manner.
- Strong client-service orientation with a high sense of urgency.
- Effective communication skills for the purpose of data relay exchange feedback and clarification.
Licenses and/or Professional Accreditation
- Valid Drivers license clean drivers abstract and clean criminal background check required.
