Cortland is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Risk Management Intern to support the Risk & Insurance team. This internship provides hands-on exposure to enterprise risk management insurance programs claims activity and operational risk initiatives within a real estate organization. The intern will assist with data analysis reporting documentation and special projects while developing a foundational understanding of risk management practices.

• Data Analysis & Reporting: Assist with collecting organizing and validating data related to incidents claims and risk metrics. Support preparation of summary reports and trackers.
• Insurance Program Support: Provide administrative support related to insurance programs including certificates of insurance claims tracking and policy documentation.
• Process Documentation: Assist in documenting risk management processes workflows and standard operating procedures.
• Special Projects: Support seasonal readiness initiatives (e.g. winter storms hurricanes) and other ad-hoc projects as assigned.
• Research & Best Practices: Conduct research on industry trends emerging risks and best practices in risk management.

Education

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Risk Management Insurance Finance Business Analytics or a related field.

Skills & Attributes:

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis
• Clear written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Interest in risk management insurance or real estate operations
