JOB TITLE: One (1) Summer Intern

SUMMARY:
The Mayors Office of Management and Budget (OMB) is the City governments chief financial agency. OMBs staff of analysts and experts assembles and oversees the Mayors expense and capital budgets which fund the services and activities of approximately 90 City agencies and entities.
The Economic Development Task Force Project Development and Management Unit oversees the expense capital and revenue budgets for New York Citys key economic development agencies including the Economic Development Corporation the Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation and the Trust for Governors Island. The unit monitors large-scale capital projects aimed at catalyzing private investment and neighborhood transformation as well as annual programming aimed at expanding economic opportunity and promoting good paying jobs across the city.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Working alongside analysts on the team the intern will develop and centralize program performance metrics across the portfolio as well as support the synthesis and analysis of critical infrastructure initiatives with direct exposure to agency staff in the process. This work will help the Task Force standardize and deepen its evaluation of key programs and projects. The intern will also have the opportunity to draft decision memos based on their findings work that could be presented to senior leadership and influence program outcomes.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook Word Excel etc.) proficiency; verbal and written communication skills
REQUIREMENTS:

Undergraduate interns must be currently enrolled or accepted into an accredited college or university. Strong analytical research and communications skills are required. Candidates must have familiarity in MS Word and Excel
To participate in the OMB Summer Internship Program undergraduate students must be enrolled or accepted into a college or university.
Compensation/Duration:
Summer Undergraduate Intern$17.50 per hour
Internships will run for 10 weeks from June 1 2026 to August 7 2026. The work must be done during the regular workday 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. no evenings or weekends.
This is a hybrid position with in-person days located at OMBs offices at 255 Greenwich Street

Qualifications :
As of June of the Program year the prospective intern must be a student matriculated in a college or be a recent college graduate (winter/spring term of the Program year).
NOTE: Appointment to this title is only valid for the duration of the Program June - August each year.
