QUALIFICATIONS |
Required:Kentucky Principal Certification Preferred:Secondary School experience Knowledge Of: - Organization and management skills
- Process to create and facilitate the implementation of the school vision
- Exceptional work ethic strategies to meet the demands and challenges of leading a secondary school
- Leadership skills that enable the leader to lead and professionally grow the staff
- The whole-child concept to meet student needs
- Education-related systems software and programs relevant to the assigned school level

JOB DESCRIPTION |
Job Summary:The high school principal leads the school staff and community with exemplary leadership supervisory and administrative skills. The high school principal uses their skills to promote the educational development of each student and the professional development of the school staff. Essential Functions Duties and Responsibilities: - Relationship-building capacity to successfully connect with and engage students families and staff members.
- Lead in the collaborative development of a professional learning program for staff members
- Lead in the design and implementation of a total staff development program; developing a positive school culture.
- Collaborates with the school community.
- Lead instructionally to meet the specific needs of the school.
- Directs the activities of certified and classified staff members in the performance of their duties.
- Evaluates and counsels all staff members regarding their support for students.
- Supervises the instructional staff in the development and implementation of curriculum facilitation of instruction and whole-child learning.
- Collaborates with appropriate central office administrators regarding needs of the school with respect to personnel equipment supplies and curriculum.
- Establishes and maintains favorable relationships with local community groups and individuals to foster understanding and solicit support for overall school goals objectives and programs; to interpret Board policies and administrative directives; and to discuss and resolve individual student concerns.
- Implements Board policies and administrative rules and regulations relating to the school.
- Prepares such reports as may be required and analyzes data to inform decision -making
- Be fiscally responsible and monitor expenditure to ensure the needs of the school and students are prioritized.
- Orients new school staff members and assists in their professional development as appropriate.
- Utilizes all resources of the school system and the community in developing the most effective educational program to meet individual student needs.
- Consults regularly with and coordinates the services of the resource personnel so that all classroom teachers may receive effective support.
- Keeps abreast of changes and developments in the profession by attending professional meetings reading professional journals and other publications and attending workshops for professional growth.
- Work effectively with the SBDM to hire quality staff members for each vacant position as it becomes available.
- Maintains and reviews all school schedules including instructional departmental and co-curricular.
