Job Summary:

The Starlite Floor Manager is responsible for coordinating and directing operations for Starlite including bar lounge rooftop service and events. This role ensures that Starlite delivers distinctive high-energy guest experience while maintaining a profitable operation high-quality products and elevated service standards in line with the Beacon Grand and Starlite brand.

In addition to overall F&B management this position serves as the on-duty floor manager acting in a maître d-style role during serviceleading the room overseeing the guest experience in real time and being the primary on-floor point of contact for guests and the team.

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain and elevate Starlites standards of food and beverage quality cocktail execution and guest service.
  • Serve as the on-duty floor manager/maître d during service:
    • Maintain a strong visible presence on the floor especially during peak periods.
    • Greet and engage guests with special focus on VIPs regulars and high-profile clientele.
    • Oversee table and section assignments pacing and overall flow of service.
    • Partner with the host team to manage reservations the door and waitlists.
    • Lead guest recovery efforts and resolve service issues promptly and professionally.
  • Support the development and execution of local and national sales/marketing programs specific to Starlite including promotions events and activations.
  • Maintain inventory control procedures for Starlites bar beverage and food programs; complete accurate monthly inventories.
  • Increase guest satisfaction through continuous improvement of product ambiance and service supported by employee development job-specific training and performance coaching.
  • Ensure all operations are managed in compliance with company policies and procedures and in accordance with local state and federal laws and regulations (including ABC and health department requirements).
  • Maintain and enforce procedures for the security of monies credit control and handling of financial transactions for Starlite.
  • Guide and inspire exceptional team performance; mentor supervisors bartenders servers hosts and support staff within the Starlite operation.
  • Build team capability knowledge and resources to meet both short- and long-term business objectives for Starlite.
  • Mentor train and coach team members; oversee onboarding of new hires and track ongoing training and performance.
  • Manage daily operational coverage workload and staffing for all Starlite service periods special events and buyouts.
  • Enhance service standards sequence of service and operating procedures specific to Starlites concept and guest profile.
  • Maintain accountability for Starlites P&L including revenue optimization cost control labor management and inventory management.
  • Anticipate future guest trends in rooftop bars lounges and nightlife and align Starlites offerings accordingly (menus programming and experience).
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Has charisma excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills; able to thrive in a highly collaborative guest-focused team environment.
  • Strong floor presence and guest engagement skills with the ability to confidently run the room in a maître d-style capacity.
  • Strong hands-on organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced high-volume setting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.
  • Ability to adapt to the needs of the organization concept and employees.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate effectively.
  • Proficient with POS systems and advanced OpenTable experience.
  • Food and Beverage managerial experience required.
  • BirchStreet knowledge a plus.

Education and Experience

  • 35 years of Food & Beverage management experience required.
  • Lifestyle / luxury hotel or high-end bar/lounge experience required; opening experience a plus.
  • California / San Francisco market experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to bend push pull stand walk talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to use hands to finger handle or feel objects or telephone.
  • Long hours are sometimes required including evenings weekends and holidays.
  • Medium work exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift carry push pull or otherwise move objects.
