Job Purpose
To provide discreet professional personal security and risk mitigation services to ensure the personal safety of all Nedbank employees while preserving their comfort privacy and ability to function normally.
Job Responsibilities
Executive Protection & Threat Response
- Provide discreet professional and personal security for the Chairman Chief Executive Executive Management.
Management business travellers and threatened employess.
Respond to people-related emergencies and protection requests involving threatened staff.
Travel with executivesas required including short-notice and extended international assignments.
Policy Implementation & Risk Management
Implement the Group Executive Protection and Threatened Staff Policy across all relevant operations.
Develop and maintain individual risk profiles for Nedbank executives.
Mitigate personal threats and vulnerabilities through proactive measures including travel residential site and event security.
Event Security Planning & Oversight
Plan and execute security operations for major corporate and public events.
Assist internal and external stakeholders in establishing event security guidelines to ensure attendee safety.
Manage and coordinate additional security personnel deployed at events to address emerging threats.
Threat Assessment and Operational Coordination
Conduct threat assessments and monitor security systems for regular and special events.
Perform pre-planning activities and coordinate with internal teams and external service providers.
Act as the primary point of contact for assigned executive protection contractors and event security projects.
Provide static protection for residences hotels and event spaces when required.
Conduct secure driving and evasive driving techniques for vehicle convoys and solo transport.
Communications & reporting
Maintain clear secure communications within the team and with external parties (drivers venue security local law enforcement).
Produce incident reports daily logs debrief notes and threat assessments.
Emergency Medical Support
Provide emergency first aid and CPR as needed during protection operations.
Maintain readiness to respond to medical incidents involving protected individuals.
Training & Professional Development
Participate in ongoing training to enhance tactical proficiency operational effectiveness and personal development.
Mentor junior team members and conduct regular drills and briefings.

Stakeholder Engagement
- Consult with external security service providers to enhance protection capabilities and ensure operational alignment.
Physical Security
- Provide a safer environment for staff clients organisation and build trusting relationships by recommending and implementing necessary security measures.
- Analyse relevant documentation and annotate security requirements on floor plans.
- Mitigate risk and monitor that the occupational health and safety checks are conducted
ATM Security
- Advise Branch Networks and Cash Self-Service Banking about crime incidents and statistics.
- On-site evaluation of equipment in place and age of equipment at Branches and ATMs.
- Ensure equipment is 100% functional and ensure staff know how to operate the equipment correctly.
- Recommend security equipment replacement if required and ensure all aspects of security and risk assessments are carried out.
- Project manage the security leg of the branch revamps new branches relocations and closures as well as ATMs.
- Manage supplier performance (guarding armed response and alarm & CCTV installers).
- Attend to incidents (robberies burglaries ATM Bombings and safe grindings) for both branch & ATMs and provide incident reports with recommendations.
- Carry out security awareness sessions with Branch and regional staff. These sessions are to sensitize the branch staff and ensure that they understand the importance of always being vigilant.
- Check that branch opening and closing procedures are followed and where required recommend corrective action to Branch Networks
- Create Networks with SAPS SABRIC and other bodies that help with responding to incident s and sharing of information and intelligence.
- Attend to all branch staff concerns with regards to security and provide advice and or solutions
Essential Qualifications - NQF Level
- Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees
- Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
Preferred Qualification
- Must have completed NQF level 5/6 qualification in Security Management or Law enforcement
Essential Certifications
- PSIRA Grade A Physical Security Professional
Preferred Certifications
Close Protection Officer/ Executive Protection course PSIRA Grade A
Minimum Experience Level
- 3 - 6 years expereince close protection/military/ law enforcement environment.
