We are looking for a Safety Specialist to join our this role you will be expected to drive adoption of corporate safety initiatives ensure compliance and record keeping and manage branch interdepartmental training initiatives. The specialist will lead the coordination and execution of safety training meetings as well as maintain the appropriate records for each department.
Our Minimum Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent experience
- Previous experience leading / coaching others
- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite and/or software applications
- Ability to travel up to 30% of the time
- Valid state motor vehicles license
- Ability to obtain / maintain auto liability insurance in accordance with state laws
- Knowledge of OSHA DOT regulations
Our Preferred Qualifications
- Presentation skills necessary to effectively communicate update persuade and/or facilitate discussions with all levels of management
- Interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers other business areas and government agencies as required
- Demonstrated high level proficiency of oral and written communication skills
- Planning and organizational skills necessary to coordinate workload around multiple assignments
- OSHA 10 130 certification
- Class A Class B Drivers License highly valued
Your Responsibilities
- Maintain and update documentation that support the business while maintaining accurate records
- Support local Safety Committee projects
- Ensure compliance with DOT OSHA EPA and all other regulatory agencies
- Manage and measure work process and metrics for branch safety
- Conduct daily facility inspections
- Ensure required equipment maintenance logs inspections and supporting documentation are maintained
- Extensive time spent training and actively engaging in branch processes to ensure safety best practices are deployed
- Ensure and manage maintenance of equipment machinery and all company assets
- Manage all safety files including OSHA logs training documentation proof of inspections certifications
- Lead branch accident investigations and collect required documentation evidence etc.
- Report general liability claim information to insurance carriers via approved incident reports
- Chair branch safety committee and lead all committee meetings
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Physical Requirements
- Physical demands include a considerable amount of time sitting and typing/keyboarding using a computer (e.g. keyboard mouse and monitor) or adding machine
- Physical demands with activity or condition may occasionally include walking bending reaching standing and stooping
- May require occasional lifting/lowering pushing carrying or pulling cases of beer or kegs up to l50lbs
