Fremont Business Unite a part of Photonics Devices Unit is developing the next generation photonic devices which enabled generative AI. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Reliability Data Analysis Intern to join our FMT Photonics Reliability team for Summer 2026. In this role you will gain hands-on experience in reliability data analysis work alongside industry professionals and contribute to meaningful projects that support our team and company objectives.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Analyze wearout and random FIT data for different class of semiconductor devices.
Fit reliability degradation models to electro optical measurements
Derive critical parameters which influence degradation in optical semiconductors.
Calculate random and Wearout FIT estimates for electro-optical semiconductor ICs.
Summarize your findings in a powerpoint files for diverse audiences.

Education & Experience

Undergraduate or Graduate Material Science or Statistics major.
Undergraduate statistics course.
Comfortable analyzing large data sets.
Python/JMP/minitab/matlab data analysis graphing and curve fitting.

Skills & Other Requirements

Excellent written and verbal communication.
Team-oriented but able to work independently when needed.
Adaptable and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.
Attention to detail and time management.
Interest In:
- Semiconductor device reliability
- Physics of Failure
- Making sense of noisy data
- FIT/DPPM calculations.

Working Conditions

This role will be based on-site in Fremont CA
Regular use of a computer and other office equipment is necessary.

Physical Requirements

Sitting for extended periods while working on a computer or in meetings.
Use of hands and fingers for typing writing and handling documents.
Occasional lifting of objects or materials up to 20 pounds for administrative tasks.
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
