| Summary of Position: The Assistant Mens Soccer Coach must be committed to the Lordship of Christ. This not only means having the correct intellectual belief but it also involves a radical transformation in every area of ones lifestyle. The Coach must continually seek opportunities to grow and possess strong character traits through the regular practicing of the spiritual disciplines (e.g. prayer meditation Bible reading) and develop ministry values that express what God can do in impacting student athletes with whom they interact. The primary role of the Assistant Mens Soccer Coach will be to spearhead the recruiting efforts within the IWU Mens Soccer program. This individual will need to be relational and desire to connect with and build relationships with high school and club programs in Indiana and the surrounding states. They will also need to be able to develop a recruitment plan aimed at accomplishing our teams recruiting goals. Additionally this individual will need to have a collegiate soccer coaching background and willingness to contribute to every aspect of the programs success on the field in the classroom and spiritually. There will be other duties as assigned throughout the year. This position involves frequent verbal written and email correspondence with students parents faculty and staff. At Indiana Wesleyan we believe that we have the opportunity and responsibility to disciple and mentor student-athletes as they seek to grow in their faith in Jesus Christ. The sport we coach creates the environment where that discipleship is recent years our Athletic Department has embraced an idea called the Both/And mentality in which we believe we can pursue both excellence in our sport AND excellence in our relationship with Jesus Christ without having to make sacrifices in either one. The ideal candidate will align with and have a desire to learn and embrace this mentality in their life and work.
