Position Summary The Assistant Vice Provost / IU LAB Chief Learning Officer is responsible for operationalizing the Academic Gateway at the IU LAB . The Chief Learning Officer leads the Gateway as the hub for experiential industry-aligned STEM and biosciences education across IU Indianapolis which requires reporting to the Provost at IU Indianapolis and regular communication with the President and senior executives of the IU LAB . Key Responsibilities Develop and execute detailed implementation plans for all aspects of the Academic Gateway as outlined in the IU LAB proposal including the delivery of academic programs linked to the mission of the IU LAB development of engagement and educational opportunities with K-12 students and supporting the development of educational offerings for adult learners and industry partners. Responsible for achieving Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the Academic Gateway. Map convene and connect K-12 activities and partnerships that align with established criteria/mission of the IU partnership with the Vice Provost for Graduate Education and academic units support the delivery of existing academic programs and new interdisciplinary graduate programs and courses aligned with established criteria/mission of the IU partnership with IU Indianapolis academic units. identify and develop undergraduate academic and experiential opportunities to support student success and career readiness related to health and partnership with the Vice Chancellor for Workforce and Community Engagement develop and expand educational opportunities that can lead to micro credentials and certificates in health and biosciences aligned with workforce needs. Support the implementation of academic programs and faculty needs in Biomedical Engineering and Informatics ( BMEI ) programs at the IU LAB ; foster collaboration with industry and research cores. Implement systems for tracking program performance space utilization and alignment with IU LAB KPIs. Liaison Coordination & Collaboration Collaborate with Indianapolis Provost to identify and support liaisons for academic program delivery K-12 educational experiences and workforce upskilling. Liaise with IU LAB staff to integrate industry partnerships into learning activities across all three strategic areas Liaise with faculty from IU Bloomington and the IU School of Medicine around curricular and programmatic offerings in partnership with the IU LAB Program Inventory Gap Analysis & Branding Develop the IU LAB course catalog of offerings by identifying programming that aligns with IU LABs mission as well as offerings that need to be adjusted or expanded upon. Develop criteria for co-branding programs as IU LAB and establish a review process for branding decisions. Identify elements of the co-branding program. Based on criteria lead a comprehensive analysis of all current STEM and biosciences programming and existing P-12 relationships across IU Indianapolis that align with criteria to be included in the IU LAB course catalog of offerings Based on gaps and opportunities partner with academic units to develop non-degree programming. Space & Modality Planning Coordinate with facilities liaisons and program leads to plan for space utilization in the Academic Gateway of the IU LAB building (opening in 2027). Collaborate with IU Indianapolis Registrars Office to develop a scheduling and allocation process for classrooms labs studios and research cores. Create criteria for determining which programs should be delivered in the IU LAB building online at IU campuses or at industry/community partner sites. Reporting & Authority Reports to the Indianapolis Provost with a dotted line to the IU LAB President or designee of the IU LAB .
