Position Summary:
The Early Learning Support Coordinator collaborates with teachers campus staff and families to promote inclusive early learning environments support the implementation of evidence-based instructional and behavior practices and ensure compliance with PreK guidelines and TEA regulations. The coordinator assists with Child Find enrollment ARD participation and transition processes for students with disabilities while also supporting parent engagement and school readiness skills.
Position Requirements:
Education: Masters degree in Educational Leadership Counseling or related field
Experience: Three years successful teaching experience (PreK/ECSE or SPED preferred)
Certifications: Principal Counselor SPED preferred
Illustrative Duties
Knowledge and Skills
- Knowledge of PreK Guidelines and TEA regulations
- Understanding of child development (3 to 5 year olds) including developmental delays and disabilities
- Knowledge of inclusive practices and Least Restrictive Environment (LRE)
- Conflict resolution and parent communication skills
Instructional Support
- Support inclusion of students with disabilities in the general education PreK setting
- Assist teachers in implementing evidence based interventions and behavior supports
- Support understanding classroom behavior expectations for 3-5 year old students for staff and parents
- Support compliance training for 3-5 year old students so that are school ready and able to receive instruction in the classroom
- Support parents in setting routines and expectations for home to support expectations at school
- Support potty training for all campus students
Transition and Child Find
- Support parents during child find intake and referrals
- Assist with enrollment and placement processes for students with disabilities
- Attend all PreK ARDS
- Perform In Home Training evaluations for Groves Primary Groves Intermediate and Groves Middle School
Data and Program Evaluation
- Analyze program data to identify trends and areas for improvement
- Provide reports and recommendations to district leadership
