Thrive Apprenticeship – Cyber Security Apprentice

The Cyber Security Apprentice will join the Information Security team to develop practical hands-on experience across core cyber security domains within a regulated financial services environment. The role is designed to build future cyber capability within Shawbrook by supporting operational security processes contributing to the continuous improvement of the Banks cyber resilience and developing broad exposure to security operations governance and risk disciplines.

Reporting to the SecOps Team Lead the apprentice will primarily support day-to-day security monitoring and operational security activities while undertaking structured rotations across the wider Information Security function. The role will provide exposure to Security Operations (SecOps) Cyber Response and Incident Management Application Security (AppSec) Security Governance and Risk Identity and Access Management and Security Testing and Monitoring

Qualifications :

• To join us on the programme you must as a minimum requirement have:
• GCSEs with grades 9 to 4 (A* to C) in English and maths and
• Level 3 qualification such as A-Levels (or equivalent)
• You must be aged 17 or over at start of the programme in September 2026 no longer in full-time education and eligible to work in the UK.
• Strong interest in Cyber Security and Technology
• Basic understanding of IT concepts (networks operating systems cloud)
• Analytical mindset and curiosity about how systems work
• High attention to detail
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to follow structured processes
