The Bethany Public School District is seeking an experienced collaborative instructional leader to serve as an Elementary Principal.

Position Summary:

An instructional leader who will develop advocate enact and promote a shared vision and core values of high-quality education and success that leads to the optimal educational development of all students as defined by Board Policy Administrative Regulations and District curriculum expectations through appropriate application of leadership supervisory and administrative skills at the building level.

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Strong collaborative leadership skills to lead teachers staff parents and community members in improving learning outcomes.
  • Ability to implement shared vision of success for all learners.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience focused in capacity building collaboration innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Commitment to excellence in instructional leadership with content knowledge of best practices in literacy numeracy digital fluency and intervention strategies.
  • High expectations for all students and staff to prepare students for success in a global society.
  • Demonstrated skills in process management and administrative ability.
  • Superior oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent public speaking skills.
  • Superior organizational skills.
  • Ability to facilitate groups problem-solving and conflict resolution.
  • Strong ability to work effectively with individuals and groups.
  • Demonstrated skills with instructional technology.
  • Experience with faculty and staff evaluation.
  • Demonstrated flexibility creativity and the ability to motivate people.
  • Excellent integrity moral character and initiative.
  • Interpersonal skills to relate well with students staff administration parents and community.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Connecticut State Department of Education Certification in Intermediate Administration and Supervision (092).
  • Minimum of 8 years of professional experience including at least 5 years as a teacher.
  • Minimum of 3 years leadership experience preferred.

Terms of Employment:

Twelve-month work year. Salary will be based on academic preparation and experience. Non-affiliated salary agreement provides a comprehensive benefits package.
