We are currently seeking a Stock Controller to join our team and help us maintain accurate inventory levels. Job Overview: As a Stock Controller you will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining inventory levels to ensure that our products are always in stock. You will work closely with our purchasing and sales teams to accurately forecast demand and ensure that our stock levels are sufficient to meet customer needs. You will also be responsible for tracking stock movements conducting regular stock counts and identifying and resolving any discrepancies. Key Responsibilities: - Monitor inventory levels and ensure that stock levels are maintained at optimal levels - Work closely with the purchasing team to accurately forecast demand and place orders for new stock - Communicate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of stock - Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile any discrepancies - Maintain accurate records of stock movements and update inventory system - Identify and report any stock shortages or overstock situations - Coordinate with the sales team to ensure that stock is available to fulfill customer orders - Implement and maintain inventory control procedures to prevent stock loss or damage - Monitor expiry dates and ensure that stock is rotated accordingly - Prepare reports on stock levels movements and trends for management review - Collaborate with other departments to improve stock management processes and procedures - Train and supervise junior stock control staff if applicable Qualifications and Requirements: - High school diploma or equivalent - Proven experience as a Stock Controller or similar role - Knowledge of inventory management software and procedures - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Excellent organizational and time-management abilities - Attention to detail and accuracy - Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines - Good communication and interpersonal skills - Familiarity with retail operations is a plus - Physical ability to lift and move heavy items Contract Details: This is a full-time permanent position based in Johannesburg South Africa. The working hours are Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. The salary will be competitive and commensurate with experience.
