Steps away from the main public transit station What we offer:Highly competitive compensation package which includes: base salary bonus benefits and career advancement opportunities! *Eligibility for benefits is dependent on the terms of employmentThe Opportunity The Commercial Mortgage Division is responsible for developing relationships with Investors Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation and Commercial Borrowers to obtain the highest market share of Commercial mortgages within Canada. The Division is responsible for the assessment of mortgage applications in making lending decisions in adherence with the established mortgage underwriting policies and guidelines. The Division also has responsibility for reviewing required documentation for compliance accuracy and completion in order to advance funds on approved mortgage applications as well as all requirements for mortgages while on service. The Division maintains a consistent focus on service to the Executive Vice President Commercial Mortgages the Vice President is responsible for managing the Commercial Funding Commercial Asset Management and Renewals department by executing business strategies and developing strong alignment with the Commercial Sales team to ensure seamless execution from origination through Funding Asset Management Loans Enforcement and Renewals. The role oversees four direct reports and a total team of approximately 100 employees. The Vice President is responsible for ensuring that internal stakeholdersincluding the origination sales teams Treasury Legal Finance and Human Resourcesare highly satisfied with the level of service provided. The role must also ensure that external stakeholders including investors thirdparty clients CMHC and regulators receive exceptional service. A key outcome of this role is maintaining a high level of engagement and satisfaction among team members reflecting the strong culture at First National. How you will contribute: Maintain improve and ensure execution of Policies and Procedures for all departments. Manage investor operations from initial onboarding through portfolio management Implement technology solutions to drive sales and support efficiency Build and manage education and training initiatives for new and existing employeesEnhance the quality and sophistication of all commercial data collection and analysis Assist in the training of all commercial mortgage inter-department efficiencies are in place to ensure high quality loan underwriting and fundingAdd technology innovations to drive sales and support efficiencies Manages and resolves escalations Leads regular team meetings Attends regular Commercial Senior Management meetings in Toronto head office locationProvides ongoing feedback and coaching to team membersStays current with latest industry and market trends and competitionAdhere to policies /procedures to ensure AML requirements are met when experience you need: 10 years of progressive experience in commercial mortgages commercial lending or real estate finance including leadership of operational knowledge of commercial underwriting funding servicing and CMHC ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and develop seniorlevel operational judgment with experience improving processes controls and service communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence internal and external ability to manage complex issues competing priorities and highpressure situations with sound collaborating with Sales Finance Capital Markets Risk and Legal to deliver integrated commercial :External: Senior management at other financial institutions Investors Auditors Regulators Brokers Canada Mortgage Housing Corporation Appraisers Solicitors and Commercial Customers/BorrowersInternal:Interdepartmental team members including Finance and Capital Markets to ensure a fluid and transparent First National customer experienceWorking Environment and Physical Demands Analysis:Office environmentPeriods of high volume with tight timelinesLong periods of stationary position/sittingProlonged periods of repetitive movement (i.e. using a keyboard and mouse)Long periods of time in viewing a computer screenMulti-tasking may include speaking to customers on a telephone call while looking up information on a computer join First NationalCompetitive Compensation Comprehensive benefits program (i.e. Health Spending Account Maternity and Parental Leave Top Up)Extensive training programs to set our employees up for success Modern office environment conducive to collaborationSupportive teamwork culture Opportunities to give back to the communities and work through events focused on a variety of charities Ongoing social events throughout the year The team youll join: Founded in 1988 First National is one of Canadas largest non-bank lenders.
