âThe Shipping-Customs Brokerage Specialist is responsible for managing and overseeing all import/export documentation and customs clearance processes. This role ensures full compliance with customs regulations accurate HS Code classification and efficient coordination with freight forwarders and government agencies to minimize tax risks and logistics delays.
âKey Responsibilities
âCustoms Compliance & Documentation:
âPrepare and verify the accuracy of shipping documents (e.g. Commercial Invoice Packing List Certificate of Origin Bill of Lading).
âClassify products according to the Harmonized System (HS Code) and apply for tax privileges (e.g. FTA BOI Customs Bond or Duty Drawback).
âExecute and monitor customs declarations via e-Customs systems.
âShipping & Logistics Coordination:
âManage cargo bookings (Sea/Air/Land) and track shipments from origin to destination.
âCoordinate with shipping agents freight forwarders and warehouse teams to ensure on-time delivery.
âHandle logistics claims or insurance issues if cargo damage occurs.
âCost & Data Management:
âVerify and audit logistics invoices including freight charges THC and brokerage fees.
âAnalyze logistics data to identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.
âLiaison & Problem Solving:
âAct as the primary point of contact for Customs officers during inspections (Red Line) or audits.
âProvide expert advice to internal departments (Procurement/Sales) regarding import-export regulations and Incoterms.
