Job Summary

Amazons legal department is looking for a smart experienced creative and highly motivated litigator to help manage Amazons worldwide portfolio of commercial litigation. Responsibilities include architecting and implementing Amazons litigation strategy with respect to specific cases; selecting managing and improving the performance of outside counsel; advising Amazon leadership on a wide range of novel legal and business risks and opportunities; working with Amazon witnesses and data repositories to prepare for trial; coordinating with Amazon public policy and public relations teams on matters relating to litigation; designing and implementing innovative processes that enable small teams to make high velocity decisions at scale; and providing daily cross-functional leadership to disparate Amazon stakeholders about a range of legal problems involving such areas as contract business tort consumer protection stockholder real estate transportation advertising privacy class action and First Amendment law.

- 5 years of legal experience
- Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
- Knowledge of internet software and media industries and the legal and regulatory environment in which they operate or equivalent
- Experience in complex domestic and international business litigation including trial experience and counseling parties and witnesses in pre-dispute and dispute resolution or equivalent context
- Experience handling complex consumer class actions.

- Experience in securities litigation derivative litigation and other stockholder disputes
- A mix of corporate law firm and in-house legal experience
- Experience in privacy law

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience qualifications and location.
