A vibrant and high-achieving secondary school in Plymouth renowned for its outstanding Performing Arts provision is seeking an inspiring and experienced Head of Music to lead its successful Music department from September. The Role

The school is looking for a passionate and driven Head of Music who can lead the department with vision and creativity while delivering engaging and high-quality lessons.

Responsibilities of the Head of Music include:

  • Leading and developing the Music department across KS3KS5

  • Teaching Music including performance composition and music theory

  • Directing ensembles concerts and whole-school productions

  • Driving curriculum innovation and maintaining high standards of teaching and learning

  • Monitoring student progress and implementing strategies to raise attainment

  • Supporting and mentoring colleagues within the department
