The Role

The school is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Attendance Officer to support and improve student attendance across all year groups. This is a vital role within the pastoral team ensuring that students attend regularly and barriers to attendance are identified and addressed promptly.

You will play a key role in monitoring attendance data liaising with families and working closely with pastoral leaders to support students who require additional intervention.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor daily attendance and punctuality across the school

  • Maintain accurate attendance records using school systems

  • Identify patterns of absence and implement appropriate interventions

  • Contact parents/carers regarding student absence

  • Work closely with Heads of Year and safeguarding teams

  • Prepare attendance reports and data analysis

  • Support strategies to improve whole-school attendance

  • Liaise with external agencies where required

  • Ensure compliance with attendance policies and procedures
