About us

We are a leading supplier of automotive interior components and systems. IAC designs and manufactures instrument panels consoles door systems headliners and overhead systems for many of the worlds major automotive OEMs!

About the Role

We are growing and this role is ideal recent grads with good Co-op exp or earlycareer professionals looking to grow in product development within the automotive industry. Youll support the design development and continuous improvement of automotive components while learning industry tools quality systems and customer support processes.

Working with experienced engineers youll help develop products from concept through production support manufacturing teams and assist with engineering changes and customer requirements.

What Youll Do

Product Development & Support

  • Assist in designing developing and improving products or product families.
  • Support the creation of design concepts and help prepare CAD models drawings and specifications.
  • Help test and analyze products to ensure performance durability and quality requirements are met.

Engineering Changes

  • Support the processing and tracking of Engineering Change Requests/Notices (ECR/ECN).
  • Coordinate with document control and manufacturing teams to ensure updates are integrated correctly on the production floor.

Customer & Supplier Interaction

  • Collaborate with OEM and supplier contacts alongside senior engineers.
  • Review customer specifications and assist in addressing quality or fitment concerns.
  • Participate in APQP/PPAP activities and learn core automotive launch processes.

Production & Manufacturing Support

  • Provide onthefloor engineering support to troubleshoot manufacturing or quality issues.
  • Participate in line trials rootcause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Learn and apply problemsolving tools (DFMEA PFMEA SPC).

Innovation

  • Support research activities to evaluate new product ideas or enhancements.
  • Help adapt new technologies into existing or future product designs.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to travel up to 25% (training supplier visits customer meetings or plant support).

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Manufacturing Engineering or a related technical field.

Experience

  • 1 - 3 years of engineering experience (coops internships or project work welcome!).
  • Exposure to automotive or manufacturing environments is a plus but not required.
  • US Citizens or Green card holders only (No sponsorship or OPT at this time).

Technical Skills

  • Basic proficiency with 2D/3D CAD tools (CATIA V5 NX or SolidWorks preferred).
  • Understanding of GD&T fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with engineering documentation and version control is helpful.

Quality & Problem-Solving

  • Exposure to quality tools such as APQP PPAP FMEA or SPC is a plus!
  • Strong analytical thinking and willingness to learn structured problemsolving methods.

Soft Skills

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
  • Desire to learn grow and take on new challenges.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving.
