Scope of Project

The State of Virginia Department of Corrections (DOC) is seeking a Software Tester / QA Analyst (QA Lead) responsible for defining managing and executing quality assurance strategies to ensure delivery of high-quality reliable software solutions.

This role will lead testing efforts across the software development lifecycle coordinate QA resources and ensure system readiness through effective testing practices.

Responsibilities

Define and manage overall QA and testing strategy across projects and releases
Lead test planning execution and reporting across all testing phases (functional integration system regression UAT)
Develop and maintain test plans test cases scripts and traceability matrices
Coordinate QA activities across internal teams and vendors
Ensure alignment between requirements test coverage and acceptance criteria
Manage defect tracking prioritization and resolution
Establish QA standards governance processes and best practices
Oversee test environments data preparation and release readiness
Provide risk-based testing recommendations and go/no-go decisions

Required Skills

5 years of experience in software testing and quality assurance
2 years of experience in QA Lead / Test Lead role
Strong understanding of SDLC Agile and Waterfall methodologies
Hands-on experience with test management and defect tracking tools
Experience with automated testing frameworks and tools
Experience leading UAT and working with business stakeholders
Experience working in healthcare environments
