BGS Laboratory HVAC Specialist

Overview

Buildings and General Services (BGS) at the State of Vermont has an exciting opportunity as a BGS Lab HVAC Specialist at the Waterbury complex and surrounding buildings. The Specialist will be responsible for daily operations of all heating and cooling systems and HVAC controls on the complex. Being able to work independent and in a group is a this position youre contributing to a team that provides safe and healthy working environments for those that live and work in Vermont.

This is a full-time position Monday through Friday 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. A valid drivers license and successful completion of multiple background checks are required for this position.

The Department of BGS is a diverse organization with over 340 employees serving state agencies and departments within State Government. BGS provides the facilities services required for all state agencies and departments to accomplish their missions. As part of the Operations and Maintenance Division you will be an essential team member and part of the largest division in BGS.

The starting rate may be negotiable based on experience and education.

Environmental Factors

Duties are performed at state laboratories. Laboratories are often researching and/or processing materials and substances that require additional levels of safety and security which the incumbent will play a role in ensuring these additional levels are met. Must be able to climb ladders lift weights up to 75 pounds; and work in cramped wet or poorly ventilated areas. Climbing crawling reaching and standing for extended periods of time are often required. This position requires emergency response to calls outside of regular work hours. Some potential for physical injury may be present.

Minimum Qualifications

Must possess a current Universal Refrigerant Recovery Certificate.

Preferred Qualifications

Possession of an R-410 Safety Certificate.

Special Requirements

A valid drivers license is required.
