Key job responsibilities
- Designing and executing process-level and data-level controls across key sustainability metrics including Carbon Waste Water Own Workforce and Workplace Health & Safety.
- Supporting data reconciliation consistency checks and substantiation processes for metrics included in Amazons annual Sustainability Report and regulatory filings.
- Partnering with Sustainability Tech FinTech and Business Unit Controllership Teams to onboard applications and datasets to GRC.
- Contributing to the development of scalable reporting tools including a controls and data quality dashboard to improve efficiency and transparency across the program.
- Supporting compliance with emerging regulatory frameworks including the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and other global disclosure requirements.
- Participating in Monthly Business Reviews (MBRs) and cross-functional Controllership Meetings providing clear and concise updates on workstream status and risk.
About the team
The Sustainability Controls Team is part of the Amazon Finance organization and operates as a core partner to the Sustainability organization. Our mission is to ensure the integrity accuracy and completeness of Amazons sustainability data and disclosures bridging the worlds of financial controllership and sustainability reporting.
We partner with cross-functional teams across Amazon including Sustainability Technology Finance Accounting and multiple Business Unit Controllership Teams to build and maintain a robust controls framework that supports Amazons most critical external sustainability commitments.
- 4 years of compliance program management legal governance audit risk/loss prevention or equivalent experience
- Bachelors degree or equivalent
- Experience handling confidential information
- Experience with regulatory filings and reports or equivalent
- Experience working with multiple groups of stakeholders
- 5 years of compliance program management legal governance audit risk/loss prevention or equivalent experience
- Professional auditing qualification or similar risk or compliance credentials
- Experience with SQL and Excel
- Experience demonstrating strong analytical abilities and confidence in the use of data
- Familiarity with sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g. GRI TCFD CSRD GHG Protocol)

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience qualifications and location.
