Job Goal: The Somerville Public Schools are seeking several candidates to support summer school programming throughout the district. The Summer Building Substitute will be assigned to be a support at a school building for 4 weeks. The right candidate will be flexible have experience working with youth with diverse backgrounds and needs and ready to jump in enthusiastically to make sure all kids are safe engaged and supported.

Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in related fields preferred
- At least 2 years of experience working with youth in a school or community setting is preferred
- Multilingual capacity preferred
- Experience working with youth with special needs strongly preferred
- Bilingual experience preferred
- The ability to manage priorities under changing circumstances and timeframes
- Appreciation of cultural difference; commitment to removing barriers to equity access and inclusion
Terms of Employment
- Seasonal/Yearly Employment
- Location: Various Locations
- Rate: $25/hr
- Mandatory Orientation and Professional Development Days: Week of June 11 2026
- Program Schedule:
- July 6 2026 July 31 2026
- 5 days a week Monday through Friday
- 8 am. - 1:00 p.m.
