Job Summary:

The Wisconsin School of Business (WSB) at UWMadison is a globally recognized business school conducting cutting-edge research and delivering market-responsive degrees. WSB enrolls nearly 5000 students annually within a comprehensive portfolio of undergraduate and graduate degree programs. WSB has approximately 100 faculty members 370 staff 280 graduate assistants and 220 student hourly employees.

Reporting to the Senior Associate Dean for Faculty and Staff at WSB this position will oversee critical activities related to faculty and academic staff governance including the maintenance and management of official documents and policies. The role involves researching and interpreting policy issues and their implications. The individual will provide confidential impartial and independent support to governance bodies and committees concerning procedures policies and regulations for their constituents. This position serves as the primary liaison to the Social Sciences Divisional Committee and the Secretary of the Faculty. Additionally the role involves producing processing and analyzing faculty data for reports to the Dean governance committees accrediting organizations such as AACSB and for various rankings surveys of business schools.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Provides information advice and consultation on policy rules and participation in the shared governance of the institution
  • Directs and schedules logistics and secures resources for operational work plans of governance committees
  • Reviews institutional activities and actions that may impact respective constitutes or shared governance and disseminates updates to appropriate entities
  • Serves as a key administrative liaison with the faculty academic staff or university staff committees; may serve as ex-officio member of appropriate governance bodies as designated by policy
  • Provides strategic guidance and oversees support provided to the representative governance body executive committee standing committees and various ad-hoc committees and working groups; maintains agendas minutes and other documents for university-wide dissemination and archival purposes
  • Serves as the institutional resource and expert for respective constituents and related statutes rules procedures and policies for employees and leadership

Compensation:

The minimum salary for the position is $85000. Actual starting salary will be based on experience and qualifications.
