The Professional Business Development Manager is a key leader in driving growth strategy through building and maintaining strategic relationships with optometrists. This role is responsible for cultivating partnerships with both practicing optometrists to develop a strong pipeline of doctors who partner with the organization as sublessees within our stores or as direct employees. This position will focus on recruiting and onboarding new optometrists and be responsible for maintaining long-term relationships to ensure ongoing engagement and support.

Essential Functions
- Proactively develop and maintain relationships with optometrists optometry schools and industry professionals to build a robust pipeline of potential doctor partners.
- Identify new markets and conduct outreach to local optometrists to educate them on partnership opportunities including sublease agreements or direct employment.
- Maintain continuous communication with potential and existing partners to nurture relationships and keep them engaged.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for affiliated doctors fostering a positive and collaborative relationship throughout their partnership
- Act as a strategic advisor to optometrists providing insights on partnership benefits business potential and growth opportunities.
- Oversee the end-to-end recruitment process from prospecting to onboarding and long-term relationship maintenance.
- Partner with Professional Affairs and Corporate Development departments to optimize the support structure for affiliated doctors.
- Conduct market research to identify areas for growth and potential new locations for partnerships.
- Create long-term plans to support store openings by proactively building a pipeline of qualified optometrists.
- Help develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for doctor recruitment partnership growth and market expansion.
- Collaborate with real estate and operations teams to align doctor recruitment with store expansion plans.
- Analyze market trends to identify new opportunities for partnership and expansion leveraging industry insights to guide strategy.
- Provide ongoing reports on recruitment progress and market insights to leadership
- Attend industry events and conferences to stay informed about trends and to network with potential partners.
Job Specifications
- Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or related field or equivalent experience
- 8 years experience in recruiting medical professionals ideally within the optical optometric or healthcare industries.
- Experience working in retail environments is a plus.
- Demonstrated success in building professional relationships and influencing stakeholders.
- Ability to travel extensively (90%) to build and maintain partnerships.
- Exceptional relationship-building and communication skills.
- Strong negotiation and influence abilities to secure long-term partnerships.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to align doctor recruitment with organizational growth objectives.
- Project management and organizational skills to handle multiple recruitment pipelines.
- High degree of self-motivation professionalism and a customer-centric approach.
- Proficient in CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
