We are recruiting for a Senior Cost Manager within our Cost and Commercial Management team who will work on some of Turner & Townsend alineas most prestigious and prominent Commercial and Corporate Occupier projects with project values ranging from millions to Billions.
Responsibilities for the role include:
- To deliver Cost and Commercial Management Services taking responsibility for end-to-end service delivery relating to large complex and mega projects.
- Advise at a strategic level at the project conception stage including providing advice on the different approaches that can be adopted in order to successfully achieve the clients overall objectives.
- Lead the establishment of the overall success criteria for the project including time cost technical and performance parameters.
- Plan for and the ongoing management of quality safety health and environment issues.
- Establish effective project governance processes and systems to be utilised throughout project.
- Advise upon the procurement of resources.
- Lead and facilitate the overall cross-functional project team.
- Monitor and apply performance management techniques including the use of KPIs to improve project performance.
- Manage change control processes as required.
- Monitor and advise upon project finances.
- Manage the flow of project information between the team and the client through regular meetings and written communications.
- To act as the key day to day client interface ensuring that client objectives are met and these projects are delivered within time and cost targets and to the appropriate quality standards.
- Services provided may range from being advisory in nature to detailed project reporting.
- SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role which are to be adhered to where applicable.
- Understand risk management principles & methodologies and where they apply with their projects and programmes.
- Ensure compliance with all corporate governance business system quality and risk management obligations
- Provide well managed timely and informed contribution to the annual budget setting process.
- Achieve strategic initiative outcomes as assigned by the Business Unit Director.
- Ensure all essential project financial and business data is kept up to date and secure.
Qualifications :
- 8 - 10 years working experience as a Project/Senior Cost/Commercial Manager on large projects.
- Extensive experience in project control / commercial management is essential.
- Extensive experience in Capital Planning collaborating with PMO teams to develop commercial strategies.
- Detailed working knowledge of proprietary cost management systems.
- The ability to win clients through strong business development skills.
- The ability to lead and mentor a team enabling strong training and development for junior staff members.
- Understanding of information management systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Good knowledge of Word ability to edit and create professional documents.
- Experience in Excel able to create pivot tables and complex calculations and graphs.
- Knowledge of PowerPoint able to craft quality presentations using standard templates.
