Job Summary
Part-time Junior Library Assistant (Special Collections) in the University Libraries (Ref.: 534717)
We are looking for a Part-time Junior Library Assistant to join the University Libraries to provide support to the Special Collections.
The Role
The appointee will be responsible for:
RFID tagging exercise including retrieval processing cleaning and shelving of the materials;
assisting with daily operations of the Special Collections including counter duties and handling users enquiries;
assisting with online and walk-in reservations of research desks and the preparation of reserved materials;
acting as the front of house to help with facilities and spatial management of Special Collections;
administrative tasks including packaging and delivery of Special Collections materials; and other ad-hoc duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Qualities
Applicants should possess 5 passes in HKCEE OR a minimum Level 2 or equivalent in 5 subjects in HKDSEE with at least 5 years relevant post-qualification work experience preferably in a tertiary institution. They should have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese strong computer literacy (such as MS Office) and the ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks. They should also be a good team player hardworking and self-motivated.
What We Offer
The appointment will be made on temporary part-time hourly-paid contract (not more than 16.5 hours per week) to commence in May 2026 till Dec 2026.
