EFFECTIVE DATE OF EMPLOYMENT: 2026-2027 school year
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Job Overview: The Robotics and Automation Engineering Technology teacher will provide high-quality hands-on instruction motivation and mentoring to students in grades 9-12 as they master the occupational skills identified in the DESE Chapter 74 framework for the program.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deliver standards-based instruction aligned with the Massachusetts Chapter 74 program framework
- Provide hands-on project-based learning experiences to students
- Prepare students for industry-recognized credentials (IRCs) of value to employers
- Maintain a safe inclusive and engaging learning environment
- Develop and implement curriculum assessments and instructional materials
- Manage classroom operations equipment and technology resources
- Collaborate with administrators colleagues and industry partners
- Participate in professional development opportunities
LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS:
Candidates must possess a preliminary or professional Massachusetts Technical Teacher License to teach the Chapter 74 program or be eligible to be granted a waiver while completing the licensure requirements as listed below:
- Education: Associate degree with 18 credits related to the subject matter/framework
- Work Experience: 4 years related to the subject matter/framework (bachelors degree requires 3 years and masters degree 2 years of work experience)
- Industry Credentials: None required
- Passing scores on DESE subject matter written and performance tests
- Passing score on either the DESE MTEL or VTEL literacy tests
