Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to perform maintenance diagnostics and repair on diesel trucks construction equipment and various fleet vehicles. The ideal candidate has a solid background in diesel systems and a combination of automotive and construction equipment repair experience.
This role is critical in keeping equipment and vehicles operating safely efficiently and with minimal downtime.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Repair
- Diagnose repair and maintain diesel engines transmissions hydraulics brakes and electrical systems.
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on diesel trucks heavy equipment and support vehicles.
- Troubleshoot mechanical failures and perform necessary adjustments replacements or rebuilds.
Equipment Expertise
- Work on a variety of fleet and construction equipment including loaders forklifts generators and company vehicles.
- Conduct inspections to determine mechanical condition and identify potential issues.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of repairs parts used and work performed.
- Document safety concerns mechanical issues and equipment status for supervisors and maintenance logs.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all safety procedures company policies and OSHA regulations.
- Keep work areas clean organized and compliant with safety standards.
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with supervisors operators and support departments to prioritize repairs and minimize downtime.
- Assist with additional mechanical or facility-related tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- 23 years of diesel mechanic experience preferred.
- Combination of auto repair and construction equipment repair strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines hydraulics electrical systems and diagnostic tools.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. work in various environments and perform physical labor.
- Valid drivers license required; CDL is a plus.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage daily repair priorities.
