Job Description:
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Purchasing Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the purchasing process negotiating with vendors and ensuring that all products and supplies are of high quality and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies to meet the needs of the salon
- Source and negotiate with vendors to obtain the best prices and terms for products and supplies
- Maintain relationships with current vendors and seek out new ones as needed
- Review and analyze inventory levels and make recommendations for stock replenishment
- Work closely with the salon management team to understand their needs and ensure timely delivery of products and supplies
- Monitor and track expenses to ensure they are within budget
- Collaborate with the accounting department to ensure accurate and timely payment of invoices
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends and new products to ensure the salon is offering the best options to clients
- Develop and maintain relationships with product representatives to stay informed about new products and promotions
- Train and supervise purchasing staff to ensure efficient and effective operations
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures as well as local and federal regulations
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in business administration supply chain management or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in purchasing preferably in a salon or spa setting
- Proven negotiation skills and ability to build and maintain relationships with vendors
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and inventory management software
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
- Knowledge of industry trends and products
- Experience managing a team is a plus
