Role Purpose

The Junior Instructional Designer will support the design development and maintenance of structured learning content for the Ctrack Connect Training Academy. The role focuses on building foundational instructional design capability while contributing to real academy outputs aligned to business and compliance needs.

Who can apply

  • Unemployed youth who have not previously participated in the Yes4Youth initiative.
  • Aged between 18 and 29
  • Must be a South African citizen.
  • Must reside close to the workplace area
  • Must not have a criminal record.
  • Must be able to start employment on 1 May 2026.
  • Highest Qualification to be Grade 12
  • Qualifications aligned to the position would be an advantage

12-months

How much will you earn

R5000 stipend monthly

Duties & Responsibilities

Learning Needs Analysis

Assist in analysing training needs for internal staff technicians sales teams and learners.
Support mapping of learning requirements to business product and compliance needs.


Instructional Design & Content Structuring

Assist in structuring course outlines learning objectives and lesson plans.
Apply basic instructional design and adult learning principles.

Learning Content Development

Develop learning materials (slides learner guides workbooks eLearning content).
Convert SME-provided content into simple accessible learning material.

Assessment & Evaluation Support
Assist in developing quizzes knowledge checks and assessments.
Ensure assessments align with learning outcomes.

Learning Technology & LMS Support
Upload maintain and version-control content on the LMS.
Assist with content updates and tracking.

Developmental Focus (YES4Youth Alignment)
Exposure to instructional design methodologies
Mentorship by senior academy staff
Gradual increase in design responsibility
Build a portfolio of real training content

Qualifications (Advantageous):
Diploma or Degree in Education Training Instructional Design HRD Communications or similar
Studying towards a learning design qualification

Certifications (Advantageous):
Instructional Design or eLearning short courses
Microsoft Office / Microsoft 365 certifications

Skills (Advantageous):
Strong written communication
Attention to detail
Basic PowerPoint / Word skills
Interest in digital learning and instructional design
