Job Summary
The Assistant Teacher will play a vital role in supporting the lead teacher implementing age-appropriate curriculum and creating a positive and engaging learning environment for young children.
The assistant teacher must have a passion for early childhood education excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with the lead teacher and other staff members.
Required Skills:
Support Lead Teacher:
- Collaborate with the lead teacher to implement the daily lesson plans and activities
- Assist in creating a stimulating and developmentally appropriate learning environment
- Assist with the supervision of children during playtime meals and other activities
- Provide support in managing the classroom including helping with transitions organizing materials and maintaining a tidy and safe space
Assessment and Documentation:
- Assist in observing and documenting childrens developmental progress and behaviour
- Contribute to maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of each childs achievements and areas for improvement
Health and Safety:
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in the classroom
- Follow health and safety protocols and respond promptly to any safety concerns
Professional Development:
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in early childhood education
- Collaborate with the lead teacher in ongoing training and learning initiatives
