Ko tōu ake mahi - What youll do

As a Senior Advisor in the Clinical Advisory team youll play a pivotal role in shaping clinically informed evidencebased advice that supports Ministers and senior leaders to make confident decisions for New Zealands health system. Working at the intersection of policy clinical practice and system stewardship youll support the delivery of trusted clinical insight on complex and often highprofile issues contributing to policy and service development workforce matters and the quality and safety of care.

Youll work closely with colleagues in the Clinical Advisory team the Chief Clinical Officers Health NZ and colleagues across the Ministry to support clinical leadership to help ensure advice is robust strategic and grounded in realworld health system experience.

Your role will include:

  • Leading and contributing to the Clinical Advisory teams work programme delivering highquality advice on clinical matters reviews and responses to Ministerial and Select Committee requests
  • Supporting the delivery of clinical perspectives to inform policyrelevant advice across complex systemlevel issues
  • Helping shape strategic responses to emerging and challenging clinical matters across the health system
  • Building strong collaborative relationships across the Ministry the health sector and key external stakeholders

  • Expertise and experience in clinical governance health quality and safety or health improvement
  • Strong project planning or project management experience
  • Sound judgement and critical thinking to develop options and provide advice
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to tailor complex messages to a range of audiences
