Downer Energy and Utilities is seeking an experienced HSE Advisor to support our Water and Automation portfolio based in Auckland.
In this role you will partner closely with operational leaders and frontline teams to embed Health Safety and Environmental excellence into everyday work practices. Acting as a trusted advisor you will provide technical guidance coaching and mentoring to ensure HSE risks are effectively identified managed and integrated from the planning stage through to successful delivery of work.
Success in this role is measured by strong ownership of HSE across all levels of the business and the achievement of sustainable Zero Harm outcomes.
What were looking for
You will be a collaborative and engaging HSE professional with strong operational experience and the ability to positively influence behaviours and culture.
Key requirements include:
A formal qualification in Health Safety and Environment to at least NZQA Level 4 or equivalent
Minimum three years experience applying HSE systems and disciplines in an operational environment
Strong capability in risk management work planning and verification activities
Experience supporting ACC Accredited Employer Programme requirements including injury management and rehabilitation
Proven ability to coach mentor and influence leaders supervisors and frontline teams
Experience conducting inspections audits and assurance activities
Ability to analyse HSE performance data identify trends and drive continuous improvement
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
High emotional intelligence sound judgement and proactive problem solving ability
Train the trainer experience or capability is desirable
