Project background information:
Employment Ontario is one of the major programs delivered by the Ontario Ministry of Labour Training and Skills Development (MLTSD). Employment Ontario helps the citizens of Ontario gain the training skills and experience to achieve their goals. The Employment Ontario Information System (EOIS) is the major IT system that supports the administration of these critical programs. Application subsystems under EOIS include CaMS (Case Management System) Service Provider Lifecycle (SPL) Employment Ontario Self Service (EOSS) Apprenticeship (APPR) Canada Ontario Job Grant (COJG) and Apprenticeship Apply Online (APPR AOL). EOIS is currently supported and maintained by the Labour and Transportation I&IT Cluster (LTC).
The goal of the project is for Ontario to transform its employment services to help more people find and keep quality jobs and help more businesses find the right workers with the right skills. The purpose of the Integrated Employment Services Transformation (IES) project is to ensure ministry readiness to initiate employment services transformation and transfer of responsibility for employment services programming for social assistance recipients. Changes to Ontarios employment services will be implemented gradually over the next several years.
IES is looking for one (1) senior level Task-based I&IT consultant to support all non-production and production database activities to deliver on commitments with the ministry. The resource will be involved in upgrading non-production databases performance optimization and the integrity and security of all application databases. The successful candidate will work with various technology teams to coordinate deliverables including planning execution troubleshooting deployments and support. The resource will also provide services under the direction of the technical lead project manager and IT manager.
Project deliverables:
The services and deliverables to be provided by the Vendor will include the following:
- Providing Oracle database support to project teams
- Build Oracle database Infrastructure in Azure Cloud
- Provide ongoing support to all non-production and production database environments
- Refreshing the non-production databases from production data
- Tune all Oracle instance components including SQL and PL/SQL
- Provide data migration and data extract support
- Realtime data replication using Oracle Golden Gate technology
- Provide high availability using Active Data Guard technology
- Control access permissions and privileges
- Maintain data standards including adherence to the Data Protection Act
- Test and enable new database features and customize them as per requirements
- Install configure and test Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) grid agent
- Provide performance tuning and optimization of Oracle databases
- Provide database documentation including standards procedures and definitions
- Monitor and ensure CPU memory I/O and storage are functioning as expected
- Collaborate with the project manager IT leads database administrators project teams and vendors
- Support deployment and release activities
