Job Summary

Heartland Traffic Services is seeking a detail-oriented Project Accounting Analyst to support the financial management of projects within pavement marking and traffic control operations. This position works closely with project managers and operations teams to track project costs manage billing monitor financial performance and ensure accurate reporting.

This role is critical in helping ensure projects remain profitable financially accurate and properly billed.

Responsibilities

Set up and maintain project records within accounting/ERP systems
Monitor job costs including labor materials equipment and subcontractors
Track project budgets and perform actual vs. budget analysis
Assist with revenue recognition and cost-to-complete reporting
Prepare project billing including progress milestone and time & material invoices
Monitor accounts receivable and support collections efforts
Work with project managers to identify and resolve cost variances
Assist with project financial reporting and month-end close activities

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field preferred
3-5 years of project accounting or job cost accounting experience preferred
Construction industry experience strongly preferred
Experience with ERP or accounting systems used in project-based businesses
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Strong analytical organizational and communication skills

Work Environment

Fast-paced construction environment supporting pavement marking and roadway safety projects
Collaborative role working with operations project managers and leadership
