Job Summary

JOB SUMMARY (Primary purpose of the position.)

Responsible for the general accounting functions for the Behavioral Health Service Line that includes processing and preparing accounting data. This position is also responsible for formulating and analyzing various operations and financial reports for BH Service Lines.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES (The essential responsibilities and accountabilities of this position including interactions with other departments and outside vendors if applicable in PRIORITY order.)

Responsible for direct accounting responsibility for BH ledgers that includes monthly journal entries analyses and balance sheet reconciliations

Prepare monthly reconciliation of Balance Sheet accounts including documentation to support balances

Prepares and reviews Accounts Payable transactions including Referral Source Check Requests

Tax work paper cost report and audit paperwork preparation

Monitor shared inbox and respond to inquiries from both internal and external parties in a timely and professional manner

Maintain daily reporting systems

Ensures that privileged and proprietary information is safeguarded against disclosure

Practice and adhere to the Code of Conduct and Mission and Value Statement

Other duties as assigned

AREAS OF EXPERIENCE AREA

  • Financial Accounting/Finance or similar

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE

  • 3-7 years

EDUCATION REQUIRED

  • College Graduate

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS (Required licenses certificates specific skills personal traits; e.g. RN CPA able to type 90 wpm detail orientation.)

Knowledge of data collection techniques and interpretation. Can navigate HCAs financial and analytical reporting systems. Knowledge of descriptive statistics to analyze statistical data and prepare estimates. Skill in examining documents reports and stats for accuracy and interpreting the accuracy.

Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office products and communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS (Specific statements of physical effort required and description of work environment; e.g. prolonged sitting at CRT or heavy lifting exposure to substances.)

  • Requires extended hours working at a PC; candidate must perform well under tight deadlines.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES

Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications with an emphasis on Excel and Business Objects.

Strong analytical skills

Strong planning and multi-tasking abilities

Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.

Able to perform basic mathematical calculations balance and reconcile figures punctuate properly spell correctly and transcribe correctly.

Customer Service establishes and maintains long-term customer relationships building trust and respect by consistently meeting or exceeding expectations.

Interpersonal Skills able to work effectively with other employees and external parties.

Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of organizational policies procedure and systems.
