Job Summary

Job Title: Pharmacy Delivery Driver

Reports to: Chief Pharmacist or VP of Pharmacy Operations

Status: Non-Exempt

Summary

The Delivery Drivers primary responsibility is to operate a motor vehicle (van utility van automobile etc.) on public roads and highways to transport medications and supplies in a timely manner. Deliveries will be made from Lewis Drug Pharmacies and other locations to private and public healthcare facilities and potentially homes and apartments. This person must have a professional demeanor and be able to communicate effectively with a wide range of people.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Learn Lewis Drug policies and procedures and perform them daily
Professionally manage and assist in all scheduled deliveries and new deliveries
Current and valid drivers license and clean driving record
Ability to read a map and/or use a GPS device
Maintain the confidentiality of patients private medical information according to the HIPAA Act
Obey all traffic laws and assure self-safety at all times
Maintain accurate paperwork and logs
Assist other drivers when needed
Promote Lewis initiatives and represent Lewis in a positive manner to our patients and communities
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Pharmacy Operations Facilities Manager and pharmacy staff

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required (or in progress)
Ability to handle transactions accurately and responsibly
Basic math and computer skills
Must be at least age 18
Current and valid drivers license and clean driving record are required

Physical Requirements

Must be able to sit for long periods of time
Work with full range of hands wrists and arms (i.e. Ability to pick up and pinch small items with fingers and seize hold grasp or turn objects with hands)
Ability to lift/move items up to 50 lbs occasionally up to 10 lbs frequently and less than 10 lbs constantly
Visual requirements include vision from less than 20 inches to more than 20 feet with or without correction
Must have depth perception color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors) and field of vision
Must have ability to communicate verbally with staff and patients
Must be able to load and unload vehicles
