About the Role
As Vice President Finance you will play a critical leadership role within Kinsales Finance and Accounting function. This position focuses on statutory accounting and financial reporting while driving operational efficiency and process improvement across the organization.
You will collaborate closely with accounting leadership and cross-functional partners to strengthen financial reporting processes enhance systems and technology and identify opportunities to improve accuracy scalability and efficiency. This role reports to the Senior Vice President of Finance & Chief Accounting Officer and offers the opportunity to influence the evolution of financial processes in a high-growth insurance organization.
What Youll Do
Oversee the preparation of statutory financial statements and the supporting accounting records to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.
Maintain and enhance statutory accounting policies and technical accounting practices.
Partner with finance leadership to evaluate and implement technology solutions that support accounting reporting and operational efficiency.
Identify opportunities for process improvement automation and efficiency within accounting and reporting workflows.
Leverage emerging technologies including artificial intelligence to enhance financial operations and reporting capabilities.
Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure alignment across financial reporting and regulatory requirements.
Support a high-performing accounting environment through strong organization communication and leadership.
What You Bring
10 years of progressively responsible experience in accounting financial reporting audit or related financial disciplines.
8 years of property and casualty insurance experience; excess and surplus lines experience is a plus.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
Strong knowledge of statutory accounting principles U.S. GAAP Sarbanes-Oxley 404 and Model Audit Rule 205.
Experience with reinsurance structures and financial reporting considerations within the insurance industry.
Background in public accounting or external audit preferably with a Big Four accounting firm.
Excellent organizational project management communication and analytical skills.
Comfort working in an evolving technology environment including exposure to automation or AI-driven tools.
Leadership mindset with the ability to influence collaborate and motivate stakeholders across the organization.
