Job Summary

The Search Engine Optimization Strategist provides strategic leadership for organic discovery across all Reitmans Canada Limited (RCL) brands. You will move beyond traditional search to manage the Search Experience ensuring our brands are discoverable wherever customers search from Googles AI Overviews to visual search and social commerce platforms. You will analyze and optimize all brand websites while leading the synergy between organic content and digital media strategies.

Job Description:

  • Omnichannel Strategy: Elaborate owned media strategies in collaboration with Digital Marketing to drive traffic conversion and revenue.
  • AI & SGE Optimization: Lead the adaptation of content for Search Generative Experience (SGE) and AI-driven discovery engines.
  • Advanced Technical Audits: Perform deep-dive technical audits focusing on Core Web Vitals site architecture and JavaScript rendering.
  • Content Authority: Orchestrate content distribution and standardize best practices across all banners using the E-E-A-T (Experience Expertise Authoritativeness Trustworthiness) framework.
  • On-Site Excellence: Execute optimizations for title tags meta-information and URLs while implementing advanced Schema Markup to enhance rich snippets.
  • Strategic Merchandising: Perform keyword and trend research to identify new merchandising opportunities and optimize category pages.
  • Digital PR & Authority: Develop modern white hat authority-building strategies that prioritize brand mentions and high-quality backlinks.
  • Data Intelligence: Create automated dashboards to monitor SEO performance utilizing GA4 Search Console and BigQuery.
  • Standardization: Standardizes SEO best practices and collaborates with E-Commerce and Marketing teams to ensure SEO Strategies are properly implemented across all websites and search engines.

Qualifications :

Whats set you appart

  • Bachelors degree in Marketing IT ECommerce or any datacentric field.
  • 4 years of SEO experience ideally within a highvolume ECommerce environment.

Technical Competencies

  • Proficiency in HTML/CSS with a solid understanding of JavaScript.
  • Expertise with GA4 Google Search Console and OnCrawl.
  • Experience using enterpriselevel SEO tools such as Ahrefs SEMrush SEMJI.
  • Familiarity with AIdriven content tools and prompt engineering for SEO workflow optimization.
  • Fluency in French and English is required to work with various internal teams and operate the tools used in this position.
