Functional Architect Oracle Retail

This role is for a Retail Developer - Enterprise with a can-do attitude who can help clients navigate the major shifts in the retail industry. The position requires an expert in Oracle Retail Planning and Optimization solutions who can serve as a trusted partner to clients. You will be responsible for consulting solution design development and implementation with a focus on building positive client relationships and ensuring solution quality through rigorous testing and knowledge transfer. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with a strong grasp of both on-premises and cloud technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Enterprise System Development:
  • Design develop and maintain custom applications and features for core enterprise retail systems (e.g. inventory management supply chain warehouse management).
  • Translate complex business requirements from various departments (finance merchandising logistics) into technical specifications and viable software solutions.
  • Write clean efficient and well-documented code in relevant programming languages (e.g. Java Python C#).
• System Integration & Data Management:
  • Develop and manage complex API integrations (RESTful SOAP) to ensure seamless data flow between enterprise systems and other platforms (e.g. e-commerce POS third-party logistics partners).
  • Design and optimize database schemas and queries for high-volume data transactions.
  • Implement data synchronization and validation processes to ensure data integrity across all systems.
• Technical Support & Optimization:
  • Provide expert-level support for enterprise-level applications performing root cause analysis and implementing permanent solutions for critical issues.
  • Monitor system performance and scalability identifying and resolving bottlenecks.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our development processes tools and enterprise architecture.
• Collaboration & Project Management:
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including business analysts project managers and quality assurance to deliver projects on time and within scope.
  • Participate in code reviews technical design discussions and architectural planning to ensure best practices are followed.
  • Mentor junior developers and share technical knowledge across the team.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years proven experience as a Developer working with enterprise-level retail or e-commerce systems.
• Strong proficiency in at least one modern back-end programming language (e.g. Java Python C#).
• Expertise in database design and management (SQL with a focus on databases like Oracle SQL Server or PostgreSQL).
• Solid experience with API development and integration (RESTful SOAP).
• Strong understanding of enterprise architecture patterns and principles.
• Excellent problem-solving analytical and debugging skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced high-pressure retail environment.
• Ability to work on a flexible schedule which is essential to support the teams operational hours.
• Understanding in developing Autonomous Technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and their application in todays Retail applications and business requirements
