Position Summary:
The Admission Operations Specialist reports to the Senior Admission Operations Specialist and has specific responsibility for the student admission process and records (including international student admission) coordination and maintenance of application processing admissions support services to other programs and areas and dissemination of information about the university.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Works with the Senior Admission Operations Specialist to accomplish the tasks and goals of the Admission Office;
- Represent the University to prospective students and the public with the highest degree of professionalism through an array of outreach programs and activities;
- Work with Admission Counselors Mailroom Registrars Office and Business Office to receive process and record data;
- Maintains all undergraduate admission files in an accurate timely and appropriate manner;
- Assists with implementing maintaining and using the electronic student admission and records systems to identify and recruit students to track and communicate with students during the application process and to assist applicants in the admission and registration process;
- Works cooperatively to provide appropriate data for purposes of reporting institutional research and institutional effectiveness;
- Works to maintain the integrity of the student database (admission to permanent records) in order to ensure complete accuracy for local records as well as state and federal reporting;
- Assists the Senior Admission Operations Specialist to ensure compliance with external standards set by accrediting regulatory state and/or federal agencies/entities;
- Coordinates the application data entry process and correspondence to ensure efficiency and quality customer service;
- Responsible for calculating core GPAs as transcripts are submitted;
- Processes changes in admission and student records as required and appropriate;
- Maintains confidentiality of information exposed to in the course of business regarding students supervisors or other employees;
- Assist in the business processing of the admissions office such as creation of purchase orders ordering supplies and other duties to maintain office functioning.
- Participate in approved professional development programs
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Associates degree or work related equivalent experience required;
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in the use of integrated software systems and Microsoft Office applications;
- Ability to work effectively within an ethnic cultural and socially diverse student population;
- Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated strong interpersonal skills;
- Strong customer service orientation and ability to work with a committee or a team.
Additional Information:
- Ability to meet a flexible work schedule including some evenings and/or weekends;
- Limited travel to participate in meetings conferences and other related activities
