Job Overview/Summary:
We are seeking a qualified Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) specializing in Mass Spectrometry to perform complex laboratory testing and analysis in a clinical laboratory environment. The MLS will support accurate diagnosis and treatment by performing high-quality laboratory procedures while ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards.
Responsibilities:

Perform laboratory testing using mass spectrometry and other advanced laboratory technologies.

Conduct testing procedures classified under CLIA as waived moderate or high complexity according to certification level.

Ensure accurate analysis interpretation and reporting of laboratory test results.

Maintain laboratory instruments and troubleshoot equipment issues when necessary.
-
Follow laboratory quality control and quality assurance procedures.
-
Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Ensure compliance with hospital laboratory and federal/state regulations.
-
Collaborate with laboratory staff and healthcare professionals to support patient care.
-
Participate in laboratory safety protocols and maintain a clean organized work environment.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Medical Technology Clinical Laboratory Science or an appropriate biological chemical or physical science

Completion of a NAACLS-accredited Medical Laboratory Science program
-
Minimum of six (6) months experience performing clinical laboratory testing (clinical rotations may apply toward this requirement)
-
Certification by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent nationally recognized certifying agency or registry eligible
-
Registry-eligible candidates must pass the certifying exam within one year of graduation
-
Registry-eligible candidates without certification may perform waived or moderate complexity testing only until certified
