Job Summary

Overview

The Power Systems Strategy Analyst provides strategic technical leadership for the organizations power systems electrification and gridintegration initiatives. This role has significant influence over organizational priorities by shaping how emerging research analytical insights and systemlevel studies inform strategy investment and program direction. Working closely with the Director of Planning the Analyst contributes to partner engagement prepares written analyses and reports and helps position the organization as a trusted technical authority across public and privatesector stakeholders.


The Power Systems Strategy Analyst leads or supports flagship powersystems strategy efforts translating complex technical research into actionable insights for executive leadership partners and funders. The role guides analytical frameworks for electrification grid integration and infrastructure planning studies; advises leadership on technical risks opportunities and tradeoffs; and supports funding strategy through proposal development technical justification and partner coordination. With impact across multiple projects and stakeholder groups the Analyst represents the organization in technical forums and collaborative engagements while providing mentorship and technical oversight to analysts and project teams to ensure analytical rigor consistency and strategic relevance.


This position is eligible for hybrid work within the state of Utah.

  • Support funding strategy through proposal development and technical justification
  • Represent the organization in technical forums and partner engagements
  • Provide mentorship and technical oversight to analysts

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree
  • 4-7 years of experience in power systems electrification strategy or energy systems analysis

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters degree or PhD preferred
  • PE License
  • Advanced systems modeling or energy strategy credentials
  • Demonstrated experience leading or significantly contributing to power systems strategy efforts large analytical studies or flagship technical initiatives.
  • Proven ability to translate complex technical research into actionable insights for senior leadership decisionmakers and nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Experience developing or guiding analytical frameworks for electrification grid planning infrastructure analysis or systemlevel tradeoff studies.
  • Track record of advising leadership on technical risks opportunities and strategic tradeoffs.
  • Experience supporting funding strategy including contribution to proposal development technical narratives and justification for sponsored or grantfunded work.
  • Demonstrated experience working across multiple projects and stakeholder groups with the ability to synthesize inputs and maintain strategic alignment.
  • Strong written communication skills including experience preparing technical reports briefs or partnerfacing deliverables.
  • Experience representing an organization in technical forums working groups advisory committees or partner engagements.
  • Proven ability to engage effectively with utilities government agencies industry partners research organizations or consortia.
  • Experience providing technical oversight mentorship or guidance to analysts researchers or junior technical staff.
  • Experience working in or with publicsector federally funded or utilityregulated environments.
  • Familiarity with DOE DOT state energy office or utility planning frameworks.
  • Experience supporting multiyear programs or initiatives with strategic policy and technical dimensions.
